Profit: What a great word when the profit is yours. We post our stock pick results from the previous day stock picks. We include a profit column with the results. The profit column is only a reference point for each stock pick and for AStockPicks.com use only and is not actual profit or meant to imply actual profit for our stock trading system or long term trading. Past performance is not necessarily an indication of future performance of our stock alert/ stock alerts.
The only past performance records that we provide are from the previous day of trading. Our reasoning for this is to keep the members fees as low as possible. Keeping past performance records of all stock picks daily is very expensive. We have chosen to keep members fees extremely low instead.
Our overall daily winning % is well in access of 98%. Believe It!
The profit column's results for momentum trading are reached by using the following formula.
Regular Stock Picks (up's)
We believe that % increase or % decrease is MUCH more important than number of shares bought!!
The profit column's results are reached by using the following formula .
We use the following formula for all regular stock picks (up's).
(40000 / (Open Price + 1/64)) * (Today's High - 1/64) - 40000
40000 = The investment we feel comfortable with or $40,000.
Open Price = The price the stock opened with at 9:30AM EST.
1/64 = 1/64 of a point or 0.015625
Today's High = The highest price the stock reached today.
Example:
Investment = 40,000
Open Price = 49.75
Today's High = 53.25
Formula:
(40,000 / (49.75 + 0.015625)) * (53.25 - 0.015625) - 40,000 = $2,788.07 profit (rounded off).
Formula Break Down:
The two 1/64 of a point are only used to give a 1/32 point variance or room for error. Most momentum traders consider 1/32 of a point a huge amount.
(40,000 / (49.75 + 0.015625)) = 804 shares (rounded off)
804 shares * (53.25 - 0.015625) = $42,800.44 (rounded off)
42,800.44 - 40,000 = $2,800.44 profit.
Short Stock Picks (downs)
We use the following formula for all short stock picks (downs
).
(40000 / (Open Price + 1/64)) * (Today's Open Price - Today's Low Price - 1/64)
40000 = The investment we feel comfortable with or $40,000.
Open Price = The price the stock opened with at 9:30AM EST.
1/64 = 1/64 of a point or 0.015625
Today's Low Price = The lowest price the stock reached today.
Example:
Investment = 40,000
Open Price = 29.63
Today's Low = 28.13
Formula:
(40,000 / (29.63 + 0.015625)) * (29.63 - 28.13 - 0.015625) = $2,002.83 profit (rounded off).
Formula Break Down:
The two 1/64 of a point are only used to give a 1/32 point variance or room for error plus when shorting a stock you must short on an up tick so the open price plus 1/64 would be an up tick. Most momentum traders consider 1/32 of a point a huge amount.
(40,000 / (29.63 + 0.015625)) = 1349 shares (rounded off)
1349 shares * (29.63 - 28.13 - 0.015625) = $2,002.42 profit (rounded off)
